Presence Is Power
Share
I wrote this book mainly for me—because I need to be reminded. Always.
This moment is all I have control over. There is nothing more I can do about the past, and what I do now is what paves the way forward.
Overthinking either one only builds a mental jail. And if I’m honest, I keep setting the traps—and I keep falling into them.
Regret and fear are part of the human test. Regret of the past. Fear of the future. I have a hard time believing anyone who says they don’t regret anything. That’s a big load of—you know what. Regret is human. The problem isn’t regret. The problem is staying there.
You take the lesson. And then you move on.
You work on today. Today’s version of yourself is the only one that matters.
Staying present is work. Anyone who carries responsibility knows this. The mind is constantly pulled—backward to what already happened, forward to what hasn’t yet arrived. And again, it’s a trap.
There’s a verse in the Qur’an I love—paraphrased—it says we plan, but Allah plans better. And that changes everything. Because it reminds you that your role is effort and intention. The rest was never yours to carry.
Nothing happens in creation without His permission. Nothing moves without His allowance. And sometimes that’s the Creator nudging you forward, quietly saying: I’ve got you.
Stay here. In the now.
It’s a gift.
